SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE

The simple present tense in English isn't always as simple as it claims to be! In English, we use the simple present to express habits, schedules, future plans, and facts or truths. However, we do *not* use the simple present to describe what we're doing right now... we use the present progressive for that.

Review the graphic below, and for practice, tell us what you do every Tuesday (simple present) and what you're doing right now (present progressive). For example: "Every Tuesday, I think about verb tenses. Right now, I'm writing about the simple present tense."
