The simple present tense in English isn't always as simple as it
claims to be! In English, we use the simple present to express habits,
schedules, future plans, and facts or truths. However, we do *not* use the
simple present to describe what we're doing right now... we use the present
progressive for that.
Review the graphic below, and for practice, tell us what you do
every Tuesday (simple present) and what you're doing right now (present
progressive). For example: "Every Tuesday, I think about verb tenses.
Right now, I'm writing about the simple present tense."
